SOLIDWORKS Website Redesign

my role:
As the senior designer on this project I directed the production of the new imagery and visual content required for the relaunch of the SOLIDWORKS website.
Personally created or managed and directed outside vendors’ production of over 300 images and pieces of content.
Leveraged SEO generated keyword lists and user personas to identify specific images that matched our target demographic for each industry.
Images were then sourced from:
2 Outside contractors
Product user groups
Stock photography libraries
Partner companies and products
Many images needed to be manipulated in Photoshop in order to realistically depict users on the software in their real-world environments. This was done by compositing screenshots from the SOLIDWORKS user interface onto the computer screen.
How the images were used
Each page layout relies on many different types of imagery to effectively communicate with visitors; and some pages even required the production of three different types of images.
production process: compositing UI Screenshots
For some pages we decided to create vignettes for the specific use cases or solutions being featured on that page. This was done by identifying real-world images that fell within brand guidelines; and then compositing screenshots from the SOLIDWORKS software UI onto the computer screens.
